HOW TO USE CRAIGSLIST TO PROMOTE YOUR MUSIC LESSON BUSINESS
I know a lot of people may consider Craigslist to be useless because of it’s dark side with reports of a number of scammers, stalkers and setups.  However, in my opinion Craigslist is still a very good method to use for promoting your music lessons and is definitely a great option for low-cost advertising for your music lesson business. I just feel that you have to have a strategy for how you use it and just for you-today I am going to reveal to you my strategy!
HERE ARE A FEW THINGS YOUR CRAIGSLIST POST NEEDS TO SUCCESSFUL ATTRACT NEW MUSIC STUDENTS:
  1. PHOTOS-People like to see actual photos of you teaching your students and your various studio events.
  2. INTRODUCTION OF YOU AND WHAT YOU OFFER-Write a quick five sentence paragraph to introduce yourself and speak briefly about your achievements and more about your love for teaching and your teaching abilities. Things like what your students have achieved.
  3. PRICE OR AN IDEA OF PRICE RANGE-Since many people who use Craigslist are often looking for a deal, it’s great if they can have some sort of idea of the cost of your services. Don’t sale yourself short, you offer a valuable service charge your worth.
  4. OFFER-Create some kind of special or a call to action offer that’s specific to Craigslist so that the potential customer will feel inspired to call.
  5. FAQ’S-You can also create a section in your Craigslist post of FAQ’s and answer some common questions. I think one of the most common questions I get asked is do you have to have a piano to get started.  As well as a few other common questions.
  6. ADDRESS-I have a music studio location in a business park, so therefore I am comfortable with putting the actual address to my music school location. If you are not comfortable with using your actual address, put the address of a location that is near you or the nearest intersection. This will help customers decide if your location is convenient for them.
  7. SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS- Using social media links will provide “social proof” that your business is legit and not a scam. Which will create more trust with attracting potential customers.
  8. PHONE NUMBER- Finally, adding a telephone number so that interested customers can call and sign up. Some people find it beneficial to type out their phone numbers to prevent robocalls. However, I just put my business phone and click the option that says no text messaging.
Will you be using Craigslist to promote your music lesson business? If so, I hope you will use this list as a guide.
Craigslist is also a great place to recruit new staff for your studio and to find items to use in your music studio like pianos and instruments!!
